Whilst working for The Invisible Party we were commissioned to create a set of pillows for the Hotel Unplugged, Rotterdam and ultimately part of The Invisible Party FETEFETE range. To follow their brand identity we wanted to create a series of “glitch pillows”. Through exploring the beautiful side to static noise and digital distortion, we created four patterns. I decided to use a more automatic method of creating the glitches by incorporating a scanning technique to make images warp. I would print out simple patterns and shapes that resembled noise, then scan them in whilst moving the printed sheet. The movement created an authentic glitch effect.
